Miley Ray Cyrus's birthname was Destiny Hope Cyrus. Tish Cyrus (mother) and Billy Ray Cyrus (father) brought her up in Thompson's Station. Miley has five brothers and sisters, two of whom are older as well as a younger sister. Miley's parents named her in hopes that she would succeed. Her childhood nickname, Smiley, due to her cheerful personality later changed to Miley. Ron Cyrus is her Democratic politician father. Cyrus was the first student at Heritage Elementary School in Tennessee. After she reached the age of eighteen, Cyrus and her family moved into Toronto in Canada in Canada. There, Billy Ray, Cyrus's father, starred as Doc (2001) on TV. It was around this time when Cyrus determined that she wanted to act as well. Her first appearance was with her father on the set of Doc (2001). Then, in 2003 she starred in a minor part in Tim Burton's Big Fish. The year 2005 saw Cyrus was cast as the main character in the Disney series Hannah Montana (2006), featuring a teenage girl living a double life as a pop star. The father of her character was back alongside the show. It was an instant hit, and soon sold-out tours were announced along with the signing of merchandising contracts. Cyrus was a teenager-making star. Cyrus has appeared in Hannah Montana (2006) and The Last Song (2010) along with Demi Moore, shifted into other performances.
